Whizz-Kidz Young Ambassadors experienced their own ‘Paralympics’ with a day of accessible sports at Leigh Sports Centre on Friday 28 October – featuring a special game of powered wheelchair football between Ex-Everton legend Graeme Sharp versus Everton supporter Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP.
Young wheelchair users took part in a variety of sports including wheelchair football, basketball and boccia, and were supported by the Wheelchair Football Association (WFA). New picture books depict fun and friendship of Whizz-Kidz

The launch of Oxfordshire author Hannah Ensor’s new children’s picture books – written in collaboration with young Ambassadors on our Kidz Board – made their debut at a book launch at Willowcroft Primary school, Saturday October 22.
The two books, Biscuit Baking and Welly Walks, are simple stories told with humour and mischief that celebrate childhood play – irrespective of using a wheelchair. They are designed to make children aged two to five years old – and their parents – look past disability.

Coming soon: The Kidz Unlimited Awards 2012

The Kidz Unlimited Awards are to be Whizz-Kidz’s new national recognition event, celebrating the exceptional skills, talent and dedication of our young disabled Ambasssadors – and volunteers – across our Kidz Unlimited project.
The Awards will also recognise the important role the Ambassador Network plays in influencing change on a regional and national level to improve the lives of young disabled people.
All finalists will be invited to attend a special awards ceremony at the House of Commons on Wednesday 8 February 2012, where the winners will be announced and presented with their awards in front of MPs, invited guests and other members of the Whizz-Kidz family.
