Whizz-Kidz statement on 100 days countdown to the Paralympics 2012

Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz Ruth Owen said today:

“As we mark 100 days until the London Paralympics, Whizz-Kidz is excited about the spotlight they will shine on the talent, skill and ambition of young disabled people.

“However it will be a hugely missed opportunity if we don’t capitalise on the legacy of the Games, and create more access to sport when they are over.

“Whizz-Kidz can support young people to access the right equipment, but this is just the start of their journey. We all need to work together. Talent scouts, schools and sporting organisations need to provide a clear journey for young disabled people interested in sport to go from play, to amateur, to professional competition.”
