Whizz-Kidz is delighted to announce that they have been named a charity partner by Thomson, the UK’s leading holiday brand.
All agents across Thomson’s 625 retail shops voted on a charity they’d like to support in 2017, and Whizz-Kidz was the runaway winner. Their support will help the charity empower disabled children and young people across the UK, by providing the essential mobility equipment and life skills services they need to unlock their true potential.
Thomson has set a fundraising target of £300 per store, which will be split between Whizz-Kidz and the holiday company’s other chosen charity, Family Holiday Association. This funding has the potential to make a huge impact on the vital work Whizz-Kidz does across the UK.
Ruth Owen OBE, Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz, said: “Everyone at Whizz-Kidz is incredibly grateful to the team at Thomson retail, and for everyone who voted to make us a charity partner. Together, we can make an even bigger impact on the lives of disabled children and young people.
“There are still many thousands of disabled children and young people waiting for the chance to unlock their true potential; I know that in partnership with Thomson, we’ll be sure to change the lives of disabled children across the UK.”
Ste Bracegirdle, Head of Sales at Thomson said: “I would like to say a big thank you to our thousands of retail agents who took part and voted. We wanted to find a charity that our colleagues really cared about and wanted to engage with. This is the first time we have selected a charity through a voting process and it’s been a huge success. Our agents have chosen a very worthy charity.
“Whizz-Kidz do fantastic work with young disabled people and we’re very excited about supporting them in 2017. We hope with our support they will be able to do even more.”
