Whizz-Kidz Patron Nina Hossain will pull on her running shoes and join #TeamWhizzKidz in running this year’s London Marathon.
The ITN newscaster and journalist has been a Patron of Whizz-Kidz since 2014, and this – her first marathon – will see her joining more than 450 members of #TeamWhizzKidz in tackling the gruelling 26.2 mile race.
Together, Nina and #TeamWhizzKidz are aiming to raise more than one million pounds to support Whizz-Kidz’s work, the equivalent of 178 power wheelchairs and 277 manual wheelchairs.
Since 1990, Whizz-Kidz has provided disabled children and young people with the essential mobility equipment and life skills services designed to help them realise and achieve their true potential. The London Marathon, and the herculean efforts of #TeamWhizzKidz, has been pivotal in making this happen, raising more than £20m to support this vital work, and changing the lives of thousands of disabled children.
Ruth Owen, Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz, said:
“In taking on the London Marathon, Nina Hossain is once more demonstrating her enormous commitment to her role as Patron of Whizz-Kidz, and her dedication to championing our work. Everyone at Whizz-Kidz will be cheering her on every step of the way.
“The support of #TeamWhizzKidz has had a huge impact on our work; together they’ve raised millions of pounds which have directly changed the lives of many thousands of disabled children and young people across the UK. We’re proud to cheer them on this Marathon day, and wish every single one of them the very best of luck!”
