We are delighted to announce that HarperCollins UK have chosen Whizz-Kidz as their charity partner for 2016. The year-long partnership will focus on vital fundraising support as well as the establishment of work placements and work-skills days for young disabled people at HarperCollins. HarperCollins’ support will help enable Whizz-Kidz to transform the lives of more disabled children throughout 2016.

HarperCollins’ relationship with Whizz-Kidz began in June 2015 when Whizz-Kidz were selected as a winner of funds as part of the News Corp Giving campaign, in which staff at HarperCollins and sister companies News UK and Dow Jones voted for the organisations they wanted to receive money from a central pot of £100,000. Whizz-Kidz were delighted to receive £10,000 following a cross-company vote from HarperCollins staff.

Since then HarperCollins have met some of our Young Ambassadors and heard first-hand how Whizz-Kidz  gives young disabled people the best possible chance for independence and freedom. We are delighted that HarperCollins have chosen to formally partner with us and we look forward to exciting things to come in 2016!

Announcing the partnership, Fiona Allen, Communications Director at HarperCollins UK said: 'I’m incredibly excited about our new partnership with Whizz-Kidz. They are an amazing charity, and we feel proud and privileged to be supporting them through our corporate fundraising as well as working together on a brand new programme of work experience and work-skills sessions for disabled young people interested in pursuing a career in publishing.'

Ruth Owen, Whizz-Kidz CEO said: 'On behalf of everybody at Whizz-Kidz I’d like to say a huge thank you to HarperCollins UK for partnering with us as their chosen charity. We are delighted to be working together to raise funds which will enable us to provide vital mobility equipment and life skills services, giving young disabled people the freedom, independence and confidence they need to reach their true potential.'
