Hat-trick Award Win for Whizz-Kidz Partnerships

Jardine Motors Group and Simply Business won accolades this year at the Business Charity Awards and Better Society Awards, recognising their outstanding fundraising efforts for disabled children and young people’s charity, Whizz-Kidz.

The Business Charity Awards, hosted by the Third Sector magazine in London on May 23rd, focused
on championing successful partnerships between UK businesses and voluntary sector organisations.
Jardine Motors Group received the award for ‘Charity Partnership: Automotive and Transport’ for the
second time, having taken home the same accolade in 2016. The award acknowledged their ongoing
commitment to supporting young disabled people, both through fundraising and the provision of work
placement opportunities.

Simply Business were also recipients at the Business Charity Awards in the ‘Charity Partnership:
Financial Services’ category – celebrating their commitment to raising £150,000 within the first three
years, the equivalent cost of clearing the Whizz-Kidz waiting list for young people’s mobility equipment
in London, and Northampton.

The following night Jardine Motors Group made it a hat-trick of wins for Whizz-Kidz partnerships,
scooping up an award at the Better Society Awards. Hosted by the Better Society Network in London
on May 24th, the award show aimed to reward commercial companies that are helping create a more
equal, ethical and sustainable world for all. The automotive retailer was shortlisted alongside national
grocery and wholesale retailers, including the Co-op Group, Sainsbury’s and Argos in the ‘Best
Scheme to Encourage Staff Fundraising: Long Term Partners’ category. However, Jardine Motors
Group were announced the winners for demonstrating a strong commitment to engaging their staff in
a variety of fundraising activities for Whizz-Kidz over the last five-years.

The Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz, Ruth Owen, said: “We are thrilled to see both Jardine Motors
Group and Simply Business win these prestigious awards in recognition of their fantastic partnerships
with Whizz-Kidz.
“Both Jardine Motors Group and Simply Business go above and beyond their fundraising
commitments, engaging with Whizz-Kidz on a range of creative initiatives to improve the lives of
disabled children and young people. I’m delighted that these partnerships were respectively honoured
at the Charity Business Awards and Better Society Awards.”
