Are you starting to think about the year ahead? What will you do and what will you achieve in 2016? All of our services are a great place to help you achieve your aims for 2016 – whatever they may be.
We asked Whizz-Kidz, Kidz Board Member Ayesha to tell us her New Year’s resolution:
'This year I want to become a volunteer. I’ve been going to a Whizz-Kidz youth club for years and I sometimes lead on some of the activities, which has given me confidence to take on more responsibility and become a volunteer. I’d like to raise awareness of disability and also help Whizz-Kidz to raise more money.'
Ideas to make your 2016 count with Whizz-Kidz:
This year I will... meet new people
One of the best things about getting involved with Whizz-Kidz is the people that you'll meet. Our 45 youth clubs across the UK are full of friendly faces and are a great place to hang out whether you are a volunteer or young person.
This year I will... learn a new skill
From improving your public speaking on our Young Leaders programme, to developing your campaigning skills by joining our Get on Board campaign, to boosting your wheelchair skills on one of our training courses -there are lots of ways Whizz-Kidz can help you learn new skills in 2016.
This year I will... build my CV
If you're looking to add something to your CV this year, getting involved with Whizz-Kidz is a great place to start. If you are a wheelchair user aged 14-25 we run work skills days and can set you up with work placements to get you closer to your dream job. Becoming a volunteer with Whizz-Kidz will also give you valuable experiences and help you develop skills that will be a real boost to your CV.
This year I will... change the world
We think that becoming a volunteer and working with young wheelchair users will be one of the best things you do in 2016. By joining us as a volunteer or fundraising for Whizz-Kidz you could help change the world by giving young disabled people opportunities to increase their independence and reach their potential.
