This week, Whizz-Kidz received funding of £200,000 from the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.  In total they have donated an outstanding £500,000 to help disabled children on their journey to a fun filled and independent future.

The funding has gone towards vital mobility equipment, wheelchair skills training, residential camps and work placements.

Lorna Menzies, Head of Marketing and Deputy Managing Director of People's Postcode Lottery accepted the award at their Christmas Breakfast event at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

Amanda Wilkinson Whizz-Kidz Director of Fundraising presented the award saying, “Without the incredible support of the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery we would not be able to work with as many young disabled people.

'The funding goes towards providing disabled children and young people with vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help them gain skills and look forward to a bright future.

'These services play a pivotal role in building a young person’s confidence and independence, enabling them to live their life to the full and reach their potential.'

This award was one of 25 that will be handed out throughout the charity’s 25th birthday year to celebrate the outstanding achievements and support of those involved with Whizz-Kidz.
