Whizz-Kidz is delighted to announce that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have awarded £350,000 to support its work. This generous award brings the total support since 2013 to more than three quarters of a million pounds.

Many thousands of disabled children and young people are still waiting for the right equipment to give them the freedom to fully enjoy their childhoods.  The continued support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery will help Whizz-Kidz provide the right mobility equipment, and essential life skills training, to young wheelchair users across the UK, giving them the chance to achieve their true potential.

Ruth Owen OBE, Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz, warmly welcomed the announcement, saying:

“This incredibly generous award from players of People’s Postcode Lottery will make a huge difference to the lives of disabled children and young people across the UK, and on behalf of everyone at Whizz-Kidz I want to offer my heartfelt, sincere thanks.

“Since 2013, funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery has helped us carry out life-changing work with disabled young people. This new award will be no different, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside them to give every disabled child the chance to achieve their true potential.”

Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said:

“As People’s Postcode Lottery continues to grow the amount that our players award to good causes continues to increase. We’re delighted our players are able to continue supporting Whizz-Kidz in 2017.

“On behalf of all of our supported charities I want to say a massive thank you to all the players. Your support makes such a difference to so many lives.”
