Whizz-Kidz and our fantastic partner BMW Group UK were honoured at last night’s (25/05/17) Business Charity Awards with the award for Best Charity Partnership – Automotive and Transport.
The partnership – Kidz in the Driving Seat – ran between 2014 and 2016, and set out to put young disabled people in the driving seat of their own lives. Raising more than £315,000 over the course of this amazing partnership, colleagues at BMW Group UK really pulled out all the stops to ensure every activity was an enormous success.
This hotly-contested award is wonderful recognition of everything Whizz-Kidz and BMW Group UK achieved in partnership together.
Ruth Owen OBE, Chief Executive of Whizz-Kidz, said:
“We are absolutely delighted that our partnership with BMW Group UK has been given this accolade by the Business Charity Awards. This prize is so richly deserved, and recognises the massive commitment they’ve shown to supporting our work.
“I want to thank the team at BMW Group UK, their friends, families and customers who’ve made this possible; their efforts have truly transformed the lives of so many disabled children across the UK, and of that they should be very proud indeed.”
Graham Biggs, Communications Director for BMW Group UK, said:
“We are delighted that our partnership with Whizz-Kidz has been recognised with this prestigious award. The whole of BMW Group in the UK responded to this excellent cause and Whizz-Kidz was an outstanding partner in supporting all our fundraising. We are so proud of what we achieved together and to have been able to help disabled young people across the UK.”
