Thomas Baugh, digital marketing manager at Yale Door, explains what made Whizz-Kidz stand out.
Supporting charities is an essential part of our corporate responsibility, which is why when we learned about Whizz-Kidz and the fantastic work they do to help disabled children, we just had to get involved.
It was actually late last year when I attended an event in which Senior Regional Fundraising Manager for the Midlands Vicki Rowles was giving a presentation about Whizz-Kidz that I first gained a real appreciation for what the charity do.
Vicki’s passion and commitment was clear to see, and she explained how Whizz-Kidz provide the vital equipment, support and life skills needed to help children reach their full potential.
It was touching to hear real life stories of how young people, despite their disabilities, were able to enjoy a rich and fulfilling life with the help of Whizz-Kidz.
After the presentation I organised for Vicki to meet with the full Yale Door marketing team (and the big boss of the company) to discuss ways in which we could work together to support and promote the cause.
We’ve now made an initial donation to pledge our support and I’ve also successfully (and somewhat painfully) completed a half marathon to help raise money and increase the profile of the charity.
Yale Door will actively be looking for ways to further support Whizz-Kidz moving forward and are more than happy to be lending a hand.
The time and effort that Whizz-Kidz put into their fundraising goals, as well as the specific examples of how they’ve actively improved lives made them a standout organisation for us and one we’re delighted to help.
