The Campaign

My name is Katie, I’m 17 and I’m the Chair of the Kidz Board at Whizz-Kidz. Fast Forward is our campaign to persuade the government and NHS to Fast Forward improvements to wheelchair services for children – so that every disabled child and young person can get the wheelchair that they need, when they need it.

There are around 70,000 disabled children in the UK who are waiting to get the wheelchair that suits them best. They can wait months, sometimes years, and in the meantime they are missing out on activities most children take for granted. As a wheelchair user I know what a huge difference the right wheelchair can make to your life. It means that I can be more independent at home, at school and go out with friends. Just like any other young person.

Support our campaign

The Kidz Board and all the other young wheelchair users in the country need your help! We want 70,000 people to sign our petition – one signature for every disabled child or young person waiting for the right wheelchair. The more people that sign our petition, the more likely the Government will be to realise how many people care about this issue.
