Here you can find out a bit about Whizz-Kidz’s therapists and clinical team. We also work with a wider network of therapists to deliver our services across the UK.
Judith: Associate Director of Clinical Services
I am Associate Director of Clinical Services at Whizz-Kidz with responsibility for all clinical work across the charity. I am a professional physiotherapist and have worked for the majority of my career with disabled children and their families.
I love a challenge, and having brought up two lads my challenges are now focussed on myself (and usually for Whizz-Kidz!). I have completed a triathlon, the Ride London and will continue with a yearly challenge - suggestions welcome!
Amanda: Senior Mobility Therapist
I work as a Senior Mobility Therapist responsible for assessment and wheelchair provision for the North West of England and Northern Ireland. I am an occupational therapist and have experience of working with children and families across the UK in a variety of roles. I have an ongoing interest in research, particularly the impact of day to day life as a wheelchair user on the social and emotional development of children and young people.
I am a keen football fan and share my support of Newcastle United with my sons. I enjoy walking and running (slowly!) with my border collie, Molly.
Helen: Senior Mobility Therapist
I work as a Senior Mobility Therapist responsible for assessment and wheelchair provision for the Midlands and Wales. I am a physiotherapist and have previously worked as a Children’s Physiotherapist in the community and I was in charge of physiotherapy services in a special college for young people with disabilities.
I love Welsh rugby. I enjoy running, playing hockey and chasing after my four young children.
Marja: Senior Mobility Therapist
I am employed by Whizz-Kidz as a Senior Mobility Therapist and am responsible for assessment and wheelchair provision for London and the South East. I trained to be a physiotherapist in the Netherlands and have worked in various countries since. I have been working in the UK for many years, with most of my experience in working with children and young people. I have a special interest in seating and positioning.
Dean: Lead Mobility Engineer
I work as Lead Mobility Engineer covering the South West and am also responsible for supervising and supporting mobility engineers and therapists across the UK. My experience is in rehabilitation engineering and I've previously worked with adults and children as part of the wheelchair specialist seating service in Swansea. I enjoy working within the wheelchair service industry; my role with Whizz-Kidz enables me to meet all kinds of people and offers many interesting challenges along the way.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, I'm a massive football fan, and whilst still trying to play I also help within the local community and have coached a junior football team for the last seven years.
Sibylle: Head of Clinical Services
I am Head of Clinical Services. I am a physiotherapist and have worked with both children and adults with disabilities, and in service development all over the world. Throughout my career it has been my passion to use my skills and knowledge in order to ensure high quality service provision for people with disabilities.
I love all animals (although I am not so keen on the non-furry ones) and our black and white moggy cat is definitely the boss in the house.
Sarah: Senior Mobility Therapist
I work as a Senior Mobility Therapist responsible for assessment and wheelchair provision for the South and South East of England and at our NHS Partnership at Southend. I am an occupational therapist and have experience of working with children and families across the UK in a variety of roles. I have a particular interest in different ways of driving a powered chair.
I support Harlequins Rugby Union team and go to watch them play as often as possible. I have a mad collie called Simba who I love to take on walks through the woods near my home.
Lynne: Regional Head of Clinical Services
I am based in the North West but my Whizz-Kidz work often takes me to other parts of the country. I am an Occupational Therapist with extensive experience of working in wheelchair services. I enjoy the variety of roles that my job involves particularly the opportunity to meet children and young people from diverse backgrounds. I continue to develop my skills in addressing posture and mobility difficulties and I am particularly interested in using my skills to assist in improving the quality of wheelchair services for children and young people with a disability.
Life for me is never dull, with three teenage children, two attention seeking cats and a garden that, when I am away, seems to become a forest.....though I enjoy taming it!
Olu: Therapy Assistant
I’m Olu, I work with Whizz-Kidz at our NHS partnership in Tower Hamlets. My role is interesting, challenging and I learn a lot, but best of all I meet wonderful young people from different places. It’s awesome!
