We are looking for young people to join our exciting new Peer Research Group. We want to find out about your experiences with Whizz-Kidz and how we have supported you. We need you to help us challenge the barriers faced by young wheelchair users on a daily basis by telling us about your experiences.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in a project which will be looking at how we can improve our services as well as national services available to young wheelchair users.
Why we need you:
Your input is very important because you have a unique perspective, which can introduce new ideas, and address issues which adults may overlook. We feel that children and young people should be involved in policies and research. Your participation can provide better informed results and improve the quality of responses, and it’s your right that your voices are heard.
How to join:
- Are you between 12 and 25 years old?
- Have you attended 3 or more of our services?
If you’ve answered yes to both questions join the Whizz-Kidz Peer Research Group, by completing the expression of interest form! Click here to fill in our expression of interest form or scroll down to the bottom of the page.
What you will be required to do:
We are looking for young wheelchair users who will be willing to meet with us a few times a year. It’s really important that we have the same people in the course of our research group, so we do require some commitment to this.
We will invite you to take part in focus groups, where you will get to meet other young wheelchair users, take part in a few one to one interviews and surveys.
Being part of Whizz-Kidz Peer Research Group, you will gain insight into how your voice can make a difference which will help us steer policies to be move inclusive.
What will you gain?
This is an exciting opportunity to shout out about your experience of being a young wheelchair user. You will meet other young wheelchair users and take part in an important study looking at reviewing disability provisions.
