The personal development of young disabled people is at the heart of everything Whizz-Kidz does. We believe that all young people should have the opportunity to explore their talents regardless of their ability. That’s why we’ve set up our Young Leaders programme, to help young wheelchair users increase their skills and focus on their personal development whilst gaining great experiences.
How it works
The Young Leaders programme is open to all wheelchair users aged 25 and under. There are nine leadership modules to complete, each one focusing on your personal development.
Read our Young Leaders Guide to find out how it works and see examples of what our Young Leaders have done to complete each module.
For each module Young Leaders complete they’ll receive a certificate. For every three modules they will receive a Bronze, Silver and Gold pin badge. Young Leaders who complete all 9 modules will receive their personalised, engraved Young Leaders Award along with a bespoke testimonial of everything they have done within the programme.
Young Leaders can use this as a reference, as part of their record of achievement or as a personal keepsake for their endeavours.
Young Leaders will be given opportunities to represent us in various ways both inside of Whizz-Kidz and externally if this is something they are interested in.
