Whizz-Kidz Wheelchair Skills Training is a unique training opportunity for disabled children and young people to get the most from their wheelchair, developing their confidence and independence in a safe setting.

WST Trainer

Wheelchair training is suitable for manual and powered chair users under the age of 18 who can drive or push themselves. We follow a set training programme, but we are also flexible enough to address the individual needs of the attendees.

Training is delivered by adult trainers who are wheelchair users and great role models for young people.

Some of the skills taught include spatial awareness, road safety, maneuvering and sports.

"It was very encouraging to meet some other families in similar circumstances, and to pick up useful tips for helping our daughter develop her skills. So much of what we do therapeutically with our daughter focuses on the 'problems'', but this was all about the 'solution' and encouraging her to be as independent as possible even at her young age".  Mother, Swansea.

I like being an ambassador because I can make people more aware of my condition, I can help raise more money for the charity to support disabled children, and most of all make friends!
