UK Tailor-Made Walking Challenges
Have you ever wanted to reach the summit of Ben Nevis, challenge yourself on the dizzy heights of the Welsh 3000′s or simply lose yourself in the rugged beauty of the Lake District?
Whizz-Kidz are offering bespoke walking challenges with our very own qualified mountain leaders, Peter Mead and Mark Borland.
These bespoke challenges can be tailored to the demands and experiences of your group. Ranging from easier low level challenges for the less experienced, to demanding, high level routes that involve much more ascents and descents and offer a real alternative to the more popular and busy 3 Peaks challenge.
Avoiding the more popular challenges, allows us to get away from the crowds and complete realistic challenges whilst having a lesser impact on the local environment and using public transport as much as possible.
The itineraries below offer a range of options and can be tailored to what you and your group want to achieve as a challenge and can be run either over a weekend, or during the week if you have the time. Please take a look and get in touch to discuss how we can make it work for you…
Challenge Itineraries
Equally if you have your own destination in mind, our guides will be happy to arrange this with you and take on your challenge!
If you would be interested in taking part please give us a call on 020 7 233 9696 or email us at events@whizz-kidz.org.uk
Meet our guides
Mark Borland has worked with Whizz-Kidz and other disability charities in Fundraising and as a chief Exec, he is committed to supporting fundraising and helping people challenge themselves to achieve new goals. He has led walking and cycling challenges in the UK, the Alps, from Lands End to John O’Groats, along the Great Wall of China and up Mount Kilimanjaro. A qualified Mountain leader and Ski Guide, he brings a wealth of experience to designing and running exciting challenges for individuals and groups that allow them to push themselves and feel a real sense of achievement, both personally and for Whizz-Kidz.
Peter Mead is an experienced mountain leader and having gained his qualification a number of years ago decided to offer his services to select charities to help orchestrate fund raising events. Whizz-Kidz is one of Peter’s chosen charities and he has been working with us for the past 2 years leading challenges such as ascending Snowdon in Wales, Scarfell Pike in Cumbria and the hardest challenge to date involved a group reaching the summit of the 14 Peaks over 3000 ft within North Wales over 2 days. An avid lover of the great outdoors, Peter has been involved in expeditions to the Himalayas, Ecuador, Morocco and multiple locations in Europe.
Peter says, “These treks make the perfect team-building exercises for colleagues or wonderful reunions for friends. Why not tell your friends and family about it and form your own group of walkers? It’s very flexible and the UK is your oyster.”
As a member of Team Whizz-Kidz you will benefit from:
