FAQ

  • How much is it to register?
    It is £20 per person to register or £15pp if signing up as a team of 4 or more
  • What does the registration fee cover?
    The £20 registration fee will go towards covering the staging of the event.
  • How old do you have to be to take part in the walk?
    We ask that all walkers are aged 18 years or over on the day of the walk. For those between 11-17 years of age who wish to take part, you must be accompanied by a participating adult.
  • Do I have to fundraise in order to take part?
    We ask that everyone who signs up to take part in the Whizz-Kidz Neon Nightwalk raises as much as possible whilst committing to raise a minimum of £150 each.  All fundraising should be paid in to Whizz-Kidz within one month of the event.
  • What will the money I raise go towards?
    Money raised from the Whizz-Kidz Neon Nightwalk will go towards providing equipment for the children on our waiting list across the UK.
  • Do I need to do any training?
    Anyone who is reasonably fit and healthy should have no problem completing the walk.
  • What should I wear?
    Comfortable clothes and very comfortable shoes – walking boots or sports trainers are advised.  We shall also provide you with a Whizz-Kidz t-shirt to wear on the night.
  • Will you give me fundraising and training advice?
    Once you sign up you will receive a welcome pack full of fundraising and training advice and we will be on hand to support you every step of the way!
  • What time is the walk due to start?
    Registration will start at 7pm and the walk will start at 8pm.
  • How long is the walk?
    10 miles
  • Do I have to walk all 10 miles?
    By taking part in the Whizz-Kidz Neon Nightwalk, you are signing up to walk the full 10 miles and we ask that all walkers are in good health. You will need to undertake some training, dependent on your current fitness and abilities, in order to complete the walk, however unforeseen circumstances do occur and we fully accept that people may have to drop out of the walk due to not being able to complete it.
  • Will you provide resting points on the route?
    Yes. We will have regular refreshment breaks where you will be able to have a drink and use a toilet.
  • When will I finish?
    However long it takes….most likely between 11.30pm and 2am depending on your walking speed and how long you spend at the rest points.  Please be aware that not all forms of public transport may be running when you complete the walk.
  • Where’s the map of the route?
    Due to reasons of public safety, we will be unable to disclose the exact route until the night of the walk.
  • Can I leave a bag anywhere?
    Unfortunately, we do not have any secure place that we can leave bags.
  • Where will the walk start and finish?
    The walk will start and finish in Victoria, London.  More information will be sent to all participants ahead of the event.
  • Can I walk with my friends?
    Yes! We fully encourage people to get their friends and family to join them for this fantastic event and strongly recommend that people do not walk alone for safety precautions.
  • Can I run the course?
    No, no one is permitted to run the course and anyone seen doing so will be removed from the event.
  • How many miles do the ambassadors take part for?
    The ambassadors will join participants for the the first mile of the walk.
  • How can you ensure my safety?
    Whizz-Kidz takes the safety of all participants very seriously.  We advise you to walk in teams of two or more and discourage solo walkers.  To keep you safe on the night we will have a ‘Check In’ service.
