By fundraising for Whizz-Kidz in your community you are helping us to ensure that every disabled child fulfils their potential and leads an active childhood. We currently have hundreds of people like you across the UK either raising money or volunteering for us. Your support is invaluable to us, so join us today and get involved. Whizz-Kidz’ Regional team is here to help!

Fancy dress fundraising

We will use our fundraising knowledge and expertise to assist you, whether you are supporting us as an individual or as part of a local club or group.

We can provide advice to help you reach your targets and provide you with fundraising tips and techniques. Whether you’re organising your own event, nominating Whizz-Kidz as your chosen charity or getting your school involved – we’d love to hear from you.

Events Calendar 2009/2010

 

Perkins Great Eastern Run

Venue: Starting in Laxton Square, Peterborough City Centre

Date: Sunday 11 October 2009

The Great Eastern Run is now in its 4th year. This year the run takes place on Sunday 11 October and it begins at Laxton Square in Peterborough city centre. There are two runs in the race: 13.1 miles, which is the main Great Eastern Run and 4km which is the fun run. Entry fees are £20 unaffiliated and £18 affiliated.

Coventry Half Marathon and Mercia Mile Fun Run

Venue: Coventry City Centre

Date: Sunday 25 October 2009

The Coventry Half Marathon is all about achieving a personal goal and is open to anyone aged 17 years or over on the day. There is also the Mercia Mile fun run of just over 1 mile which is open to people of all ages and is a great option for those wishing to walk, run or jog a shorter distance or take part with their children. Entry fees for Half Marathon are £18 unaffiliated £16 affiliated. Entry fees for Mercia Mile are £6 for over 16s and £4 for under 16s.

GRIM Eight-Mile

Venue: Aldershot, Hampshire

Date: Saturday 5 or Sunday 6 December 2009

The GRIM eight-mile off-road race is a fantastic challenge - but it's not for the faint-hearted! You will run on puddle-strewn paths and crawl under camouflage netting in an army off-road vehicle test area. Registration fee is £25.

Knowle & Dorridge Lions Festive Walk

Venue: Starting at Baddesley Clinton National Trust House

Date: Monday 28 December 2009

Time to brush the mud off those boots and walk off some Christmas food and raise some money for Whizz-Kidz at the same time! Entry is free.

20k Great East Run

Venue: Staring at Bungay Sports Centre, Bungay, Suffolk

Date: Sunday 21 February 2010

In it's 11th year, the Elgood Brewery Great East Run  takes place on Sunday 21 February 2010.

Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon

Venue: Silverstone Racing Circuit, Towcester, Northamptonshire

The Forest of Dean Half Marathon

Venue: Based at Speech House at the centre of the Forest of Dean

Date: Sunday 28 March 2010

This annual event is organised by The Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean and supported by the Forestry Commission. Choose to run in aid of Whizz-Kidz.

Waendel Walk

Venue: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Date: Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May 2010

The weekend will include a choice of 5km, 10km, 15km, 25km and 42km routes for walkers and 25km and 42km routes for cyclists, giving everyone an opportunity to sample different parts of the local countryside on Saturday and Sunday.

New for 2010, the event also includes a 5km Ladybird Walk, a 10km Butterfly walk and a 15km Bumblebee walk.
