Fundraisers in Action
Caring Kindergartens Group support Whizz-Kidz
Caring Kindergartens Group, with nurseries in Daventry, Moulton Park, Peterborough, Stratford upon Avon and Wellingborough, have chosen Whizz-Kidz as their charity of the year. Ambassador William Whitticase was guest of honour at their Peterborough Open Day which got the fundraising off to a flying start, raising over £800. William demonstrated his wheelchair to children and parents, met mascot Trunky and got involved in lots of activities. William also attended the Mascot Grand National in October; where Trunky took part in the Mascot Race and raised money for Whizz-Kidz.
The Daventry Open Day welcomed Whizz-Kidz Ambassador Harriet Margieson, along with her father Ian and sisters Emmylou and Chloe. Harriet helped to explain Whizz-Kidz’ excellent work to parents and staff. Wellingborough’s Open Day welcomed Ambassador Kat Lewis. Kat and Trunky went fishing for ducks raising lots of money and Kat kindly donated a £50 boost towards the open day’s takings!
Wimbledon Windmilers 10k success
The Wimbledon Windmilers held their annual Jim Braben Memorial 10k Race in July, which saw runners and joggers come together to pound the famous trails of Wimbledon Common and help to change the lives of local disabled children in the process.
The run was an enormous success, raising over £3000 for Whizz-Kidz. Ralph Gilbert & Martin Snodgrass, Events Coordinators at Wimbledon Windmilers said “Wimbledon Windmilers chose to support Whizz Kidz because, as well as having aims that are much deserved of support, a key reason was that the funds raised could help a disabled child in our local area, giving the Club the opportunity to give something back locally. The race ran very smoothly with more runners than ever before and with support from many club volunteers. I would like thank Whizz-Kidz for allowing us this opportunity to support the fantastic work that they do.”
Knowle and Dorridge Lions success

Ambassador Pippa Massingberd-Mundy attended the Knowle & Dorridge Lions cheque presentation at the Greswolde Hotel, in Knowle Solihull, on Thursday 24th September.
Whizz-Kidz was chosen as one of the Lions charities of the year for 2008-2009. After a whole 12 months of fundraising it was time to pick up this fantastic cheque. Pippa accepted a cheque for £10,578 which was going towards the ‘West Midland Appeal’ for Whizz-Kidz. Here is a picture of Pippa holding the fantastic cheque surrounded by the marvellous Knowle & Dorridge Lions.
