The West Midlands Appeal

The aim

The West Midlands Right Start Appeal, with your help, aims to raise £250,000 over 3 years to support children and young people in the West Midlands area – Areas included are Birmingham, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire.

By helping us to fundraise, or by raising awareness of this appeal, you could help us transform the life of a child in your neighbourhood – enabling their childhood to truly begin.

Whizz-Kidz needs your help to change the lives of young people in the West Midlands.

That’s why we are asking you to support our ‘Right Start’ appeal today.

Children we have helped

Kaitlin

Jack

…..and here are some young lives we are still waiting to transform with your help:

“A powered wheelchair would give Jodie freedom and independence. She would not have to rely on me all the time, at the moment I feel as if I am smothering her.” (Jodie’s mum)

“In his manual wheelchair Luke cannot self propel very far and becomes frustrated when he cannot get to where he wants to go, a powered wheelchair would give Luke a whole new lease of life and independence” (Luke’s mum)

Wolverhampton Wanderer’s star midfielder Karl Henry is backing our campaign, he commented: “The Right Start appeal will give disabled kids a brand new life by providing them with essential wheelchairs and other vital mobility equipment. A childhood can be transformed overnight and that’s an amazing thing to see”.

Also backing the campaign is MP for Birmingham Selly Oak, Lynne Jones. ‘‘I am delighted to support Whizz-Kidz’ Right Start initiative to give local disabled children the wheelchair they need to live a full and active childhood. I hope that as many local people and businesses get behind this appeal so that we can help transform many more young lives in the region’’
