Volunteering
Whizz-Kidz relies on people like you who are willing to offer their time as a volunteer to support our work with disabled children across the UK.
By joining the Whizz-Kidz Volunteer Network you can support us to deliver our services to disabled children and young people, and help us to raise awareness of mobility issues, as well as funds, across the UK. So no matter where you live you can make a difference as a volunteer. Whether you can give an hour here or there or a longer commitment your contribution will be valued.
We provide induction and training to all volunteers, so you’ll be well briefed on the charity’s work and on the activities you get involved in, as well as support and supervision for all volunteers during the course of representing us. All reasonable travel and lunch costs are covered so you will not be out of pocket for your time.
Whizz-Kidz’ commitment to Volunteers
Whizz-Kidz recognises the significant role that volunteers play in supporting us to achieve our strategic targets and has developed a volunteer policy that reflects this commitment. Take a look at our Volunteer Policy Synopsis. Applicants for volunteering must be 16 years or above. Those who are applying for volunteer work involving direct contact with children, young people or vulnerable adults are subject to Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure. This includes volunteering at Wheelchair Skills Training, Ambassador Clubs and some administrative roles.
