By teaching children to think about mobility and disability issues, Whizz-Kidz hopes to change attitudes and perception about disabled people and foster social inclusion for all disabled children.
Our resources have been written for teachers to deliver effective Citizenship and PSHE at Key Stages 1-4 and address disability issues in an innovative and fun way.
We’ve worked with a group of disabled children and young people, teachers and education specialists to produce step by step lesson and assembly plans which link directly to the requirements of the national curriculum.
Our accessibility survey will encourage pupils to look at their school surroundings from the viewpoint of a young wheelchair user and finding the right words and language - positive and negative can help students take a closer look at how the words and phrases they use reflect society's view of disabled people.
The poems and quotes from young disabled people give pupils the chance to hear and share their thoughts. For an art lesson, take a look at our drawing mobility equipment work sheet.
