Whizz-Kidz has a reputation for achieving results in an innovative way. Our unwavering focus on customers drives us to implement pioneering approaches with our NHS partners in order to deliver wheelchair services better, faster and more efficiently.
Our innovations are held up as beacons of best practice by leaders in the health service. In March 2013 we launched our mobile app at the Healthcare Innovation Expo organised by the Department for Health. The Whizz-Kidz App was designed with disabled children, young people and their families in mind, enabling young people and their families to make their own decisions about their health and well-being. Whizz-Kidz CEO, Ruth Owen wrote an article in the Telegraph about the importance of this app as a mobilising technology for disabled people.
Our ‘Child in a Chair in a Day’ approach was also named as a high impact innovation in the Innovation, Health and Wealth: Accelerating Adoption and Diffusion in the NHS report published in 2011. In addition, Child in a Chair in a Day was referred to as a priority for 2013 in the subsequent ‘Creating Change: Innovation, Health and Wealth One Year On’ report published in 2012.
