Whizz-Kidz seeks talented people to join our Young People’s Team
Thanks to support from The Big Lottery Fund, children’s mobility charity Whizz-Kidz is expanding its Ambassador Network so that we can offer training, work placements, campaigning support and opportunities for young wheelchair users across theUKto meet up and have fun. We are now looking for exceptional people to join the team and help us deliver this innovative project around theUK.

Ad-Hoc Ambassador Club Assistants – located in Poole, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire,Canterbury, Essex,Norfolk and North Wales (£150 per day + reasonable expenses)
We are looking for experienced, passionate and motivated individuals who have the ability to sustain the engagement of young people. The Ad-Hoc Ambassador Club Assistant will facilitate and deliver Ambassador Clubs.
Ambassador Clubs are places where young disabled people meet regularly to learn new skills, develop their own campaigns agendas, take part in activities like film making, drama and sports as well as being empowered to lead and make decisions about the future of their clubs. The ethos of Ambassador Clubs is ‘fun & friendship’.
Post holders will receive comprehensive training and deliver set agendas, making sure the day runs to schedule and activities are inclusive and delivered with enthusiasm. The Ad-Hoc Ambassador Club Assistant will also manage volunteers and care staff, ensuring that young people are kept safe at all times and that days remain fun and vibrant, encouraging participants to lead on activities. The Ad-Hoc Ambassador Club Assistant is also responsible for the feedback and evaluation process at each club.
The post holder should have a proven background in teaching or youth work as well as a recognised relevant formal qualification and be passionate about enabling young disabled people to participate in a fun way. On top of this, it would be good to also have an understanding of Safeguarding Children and Young People, disability equality and risk aversion as well as direct experience of working with disabled young people.
