Whizz-Kidz teams with New Look to raise funds and awareness
Fashion retailer New Look has chosen Whizz-Kidz as a beneficiary charity of its recently launched charitable New Look Foundation.
The two year partnership will centre on staff and customer fundraising for the young people’s mobility charity, and will also involve awareness-raising initiatives. Whizz-Kidz’ young ambassadors will be working with New Look to support schemes on high street accessibility and inclusivity in fashion wear.
Whizz-Kidz supports the independence of young disabled people up to the age of 24 around the UK by providing mobility equipment such as powered wheelchairs, delivering skills-training and a work placement programme.
Marie Tysall-Blay, New Look’s Head of Social Responsibility, said:
“New Look has over 20,000 staff across the country who are excited to be supporting young disabled people in their communities and regions. Whizz-Kidz and New Look hope to make a real difference by not only supporting their physical mobility needs but also their social independence.”
Head of Corporate Partnerships at Whizz-Kidz, Stuart Denard added:
“We are thrilled to be working with New Look. They, like us, believe that popular fashion and culture is for everyone – be they disabled or non-disabled, and many of our young people are big fans of New Look!
“We are also looking forward to some fun and inventive fundraising over the next two years, to fund vital equipment and projects that will afford hundreds of young people their mobility and independence.”
The New Look Foundation has selected Whizz-Kidz and eating disorder charity beat as its first charity partners, and will continue to work with Macmillan Cancer Support to help make a difference to communities across the UK. The Foundation’s mission is to educate, inspire and empower individuals to feel good about themselves; to live life to the full and make smart choices about their own lives and the people closest to them.
