Have wheelchair services for disabled children in Wales improved?

Have wheelchair services for disabled children and young people in Wales improved in the past 12 months?

Contact a Family Wales has issued a survey to find out parents views on any improvements to wheelchair services for disabled children and young people in Wales. To give your views complete the survey here

The National Assembly for Wales’s Health and Social Care Committee has agreed to undertake a one-day inquiry on wheelchair services in Wales taking place on the 8th March 2012.

The purpose of this one-day inquiry is to consider the extent to which the recommendations made by the previous Committee’s Report on Wheelchair Services in Wales (published May 2010) have been implemented.

Many parents and young disabled people from across Wales provided information for the original report and since then the Welsh Government has made a commitment to improve wheelchair services backed with an investment of an additional £2.2million each year.

Contact a Family Wales, along with other voluntary organisations, has been asked to give evidence to the current inquiry and would like to hear from you about how far wheelchair services have improved over the past 12 months.

If you are able to spend a little time completing this online questionnaire, your responses will be completely confidential but will be used to provide evidence to the Health and Social Care Committee on the 8th March.
