Whizz-Kidz nominated for a National Lottery Award
We’re excited to tell you that Kidz Unlimited has been successfully voted through to the live BBC final in the prestigious National Lottery Awards 2012 in December. We are one of three finalists in the Best Charity Project category.
This is a fantastic result for Whizz-Kidz, and we thank each of you – your friends and families – for voting to ensure we got through.
The winner of this national Award will again be decided by public vote…we’ll let you when and how!
The heightened level of awareness that Whizz-Kidz will receive from the television exposure and other national media is an incredible opportunity for the charity.
What it means
If we win our category we will accept the Award live on the BBC, and receive a £2,000 cash prize – which could buy enough specialist sports and multimedia equipment to run three new Kidz Unlimited clubs, supporting 45 young people, all year round.
More than the money however, a National Lottery Award win would be a testament to the many young disabled people that invest in Kidz Unlimited, from devising local campaigns to mentoring other youngsters.
Once again thank you so much for voting – it was a huge team effort. Please do share our news on Facebook and Twitter, using the #NLawards hashtag.
