Ambassador Clubs get OFSTED seal of approval
OFSTED have described the outcomes for Ambassadors as “outstanding” in a report of Whizz-Kidz Ambassador Clubs after inspectors visited the Hull, Hartlepool and Newcastle clubs.
Their report is part of a UK-wide survey highlighting best practise in youth work opportunities for young disabled people. It commented on the enthusiasm and energy of those who take part in the clubs as they acquire vital skills and interests and agreed that the clubs encourage, support and stretch Ambassadors, while understanding and meeting their needs.
OFSTED’s report also praised the clubs for involving their members in local, regional and national decision-making through campaigns, which they agree increases confidence and broadens perspectives. Likewise, they were complimentary of Whizz-Kidz organised work placements and ‘Skills For Life’, which helps those who take part gain skills and confidence through training in subjects such as budgeting, healthy eating and CV writing.
This is a fantastic achievement so a massive thank you to all those involved directly and to the co-ordinators, staff, volunteers, and Ambassadors who make it all possible.
