Success for Whizz-Kidz campaign in London transport ramp rollout

Whizz-Kidz warmly welcomes Transport for London’s pledge to roll out more manual boarding ramps across London’s Underground network – a key manifesto point in the charity’s ‘Generation Inspired?’ report, published in February 2013.
Whizz-Kidz polled young disabled people over five months following London’s 2012 Games, and received overwhelming feedback about the lack of ramps on the capital’s tubes and trains. One respondent stated, ‘I find it really frustrating having to rely on the train guard. I’ve been forgotten about in the past, and I don’t have the confidence to use the trains alone.’
