Our partnership with the high quality vehicle dealership group is now in its third year and has raised £540,000 to date, providing disabled children across the UK with the mobility equipment, skills and confidence they need to move their lives forward.

Fundraising and partnership impacts

This impressive total has been achieved through a wide variety of individual and dealership initiatives including ‘Go Green Days’, gala dinners, casino nights, sporting challenges and much more. The Group’s incredible efforts were recently recognised at the 2016 Business Charity Awards, where the partnership took home the prize for Best Charity Partnership in their sector.

In November 2014, the company hosted a charity ball at their Porsche Centre in Colchester and raised a phenomenal £86,000 through auctions and games on the night. The star prize was a classic 1980s Porsche 911, which had been beautifully restored by Jardine Motors Group engineers. Following the success of this project, Jardine Motors Group technicians are now painstakingly restoring a further six classic vehicles to be auctioned later in 2016.

Over the last two years, Jardine Motors Group have kindly donated two brand new mobility vehicles for Whizz-Kidz to deliver vital wheelchairs to young disabled people at their family's convenience. Together, driven by Whizz-Kidz Mobility Engineers, these vans have travelled over 70,000 miles enabling our engineers to provide support for more than 800 children and their families.

As the partnership reached the half million pound milestone earlier this year, Whizz-Kidz CEO Ruth Owen OBE, said,

'We are absolutely delighted that our partners Jardine Motors Group have reached this incredible fundraising milestone. Our award-winning partnership has already made an amazing positive impact on the lives of many disabled children and young people – and their families – across the UK, and it promises to continue making a difference in the future.

'I want to thank all of Jardine Motors Group’s staff, their friends, families and customers who’ve made this possible; their efforts are transforming the lives of disabled children across the UK, and of that they should be very proud indeed.'

The funds raised so far are providing vital wheelchairs and mobility equipment for young people, as well as helping us to deliver our Wheelchair Skills Training schemes, youth groups (Ambassador Clubs), and residential camps in the communities where Jardine Motors Group colleagues and customers live and work.

Gabby is 10 and lives in Kent. She is one of many children across the UK to have received a new powered wheelchair from Whizz-Kidz, thanks to the support of Jardine Motors Group. Her new equipment makes it possible for her to go to mainstream secondary school and enjoy her independence. Read Gabby's story.

In addition to the phenomenal fundraising they are carrying out, Jardine Motors Group are also providing Work Placements for young people across the country, giving them the tools, confidence and skills they need for a bright future. Watch one of these placements in action.
