Whizz-Kidz and Jardine Motors Group have been in partnership since 2014 and have raised over £1.1million. However, our partnership is about so much more than money. Jardine has volunteered their time and resources to help Whizz-Kidz at their events, and even supported with the donation of vans to help our Clinicians visit children in their communities.
Fundraising and partnership impacts
This remarkable partnership has been recognised with numerous industry awards, including winning ‘The Best Charity Partnership with an Automotive or Transport Company’ in 2016, 2017, and 2018 at the Business Charity Awards as well as ‘Best Scheme to Encourage Staff Fundraising’ in 2018 at the Better Society Awards.
Jardine colleagues have volunteered their time to support young wheelchair users to improve their employability skills, as well as offering 16 young people their first taste of employment by hosting work placements at their various dealerships throughout the UK. Jardine, as a diverse and inclusive employer, is a key part of our employability programme, offering placements throughout England in a wide range of business areas, as well pioneering our mentoring scheme with the Kidz-Board.
“Work placements in general are quite daunting for anyone, but obviously as a young wheelchair user it presents extra challenges. I couldn’t fault the staff here honestly, as they’ve all made me feel really welcome and part of the team”
Penny, who undertook a Halesowen Audi in Summer 2018
Jardine have also been instrumental to supporting Whizz-Kidz core functions. Jardine have utilised their networks to help source four vans for our Clinical team; enabling our teams in the field to access children and their families in their local communities, providing them with the life-changing mobility equipment that they need.
Jardine’s support for Whizz-Kidz is incredibly wide-ranging and no stone is left unturned in promoting the rights of young wheelchair users and promoting accessibility. They have been key supporters of our annual Clay Pigeon Shoot, and even introduced key partners to our ‘Reimagining the Wheelchair’ project – helping to support innovative, cutting-edge projects to change the landscape for wheelchair users.
Gabby is 10 and lives in Kent. She is one of many children across the UK to have received a new powered wheelchair from Whizz-Kidz, thanks to the support of Jardine Motors Group. Her new equipment makes it possible for her to go to mainstream secondary school and enjoy her independence. Read Gabby's story.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Jardine Motors Group who has supported our partnership over the last five years. Thank you for raising a fantastic amount of money and for investing in young people to give them the tools, confidence and skills for a bright future.
