In October 2017, Whizz-Kidz launched an innovative partnership with Poundland with the aim of, along with Make-A-Wish and Tommy’s, “changing lives together with every pound”. 

Over the past two years, Poundland colleagues, customers and suppliers have fundraised over £2.4 million and helped to promote Whizz-Kidz to families on almost 800 high streets throughout the UK.

The energy, passion and enthusiasm of Poundland colleagues is the driving force behind our partnership’s success – taking on all number of fundraising challenges to raise money for our partnership.  From head shaves to half marathons, Poundland’s colleagues have been up for the challenge, and their customers have been quick to offer their support.

In 2018, Poundland took on their first national challenge – ‘Pedal for Pounds’.  Almost 100 colleagues embarked on a 73-day journey around the circumference of the UK, with stores fundraising to support their colleagues along the way.  With cycle legs ranging from 36 to 76 miles, there was something for all colleagues to participate in, and together they raised over £70,000.

As this incredible partnership continues to develop, we are preparing for Poundland to host their first work placement, and have also received some incredible marketing support – utilising Poundland’s strong online presence to promote Whizz-Kidz to new audiences.
