Strawberry, a marketing and design agency based in Hull, chose Whizz-Kidz as its charity partner in 2012 – the year the agency were celebrating their 20th anniversary. The staff at Strawberry were determined to create a high impact partnership that would deliver real business benefits to Whizz-Kidz.
Working together to create an accessible website
Keeping kids at the heart of our services is a high priority for Whizz-Kidz, and this includes ensuring all of our services and our website is accessible to all. With this in mind, Strawberry identified that our website was an area in which they could lend support, and offered to re-design it pro bono.
The re-design project spanned 10 months and involved creating a completely new look and feel, making the site responsive (so it works on smartphones and tablets), a re-structure of content and creating a range of new interactive elements – for example a brand new donation page and a map showing how many young disabled people we’ve helped in each region on the UK.
We were delighted to put our new website live on 12th February 2014.
Trading the boardroom for bicycles
In addition to the fantastic work that Strawberry did on our website, the staff at the organisation also raised over £6,500 for Whizz-Kidz by undertaking a sponsored cycle. Titled ‘Tour de Strawberry’, members of staff cycled 400 miles from Hull to London and back again (pictured).
A huge thank you
We are incredibly grateful to all the staff at Strawberry for their support. Whizz-Kidz is determined to give young disabled people and their families a fast and accessible way to get information and support from Whizz-Kidz, and our new website is vital in helping us to do this.
