Job summary

The main purpose of the role is to maximise income for Whizz Kidz services from Trusts and Foundations through researching new funding opportunities, creating high quality applications with Service staff and stewarding existing warm funders effectively.

The person

You will have experience of: Securing funding from Trusts with excellent writing and presentation skills; Solid prospect research skills to identify new funding opportunities and maintain a forward pipeline of applications; Of working collaboratively with Service Teams to package and cost project areas; Stewardship of warm funders including preparing donor reports, reviewing financial reports and gathering case studies. You will also have strong time management skills with ability to manage and prioritise your workload and ideally experience of using a CRM for Trust Fundraising.  

Key accountabilities

· Identify new funding opportunities with a focus on donors at the 10K -40K level

· Maintain a pipeline of all potential grant opportunities mapped against Whizz Kidz fundraising plans and needs

· Prepare and write funding applications and mailings to a range of funders.  

· Write high quality reports to funders and review associated financial reports. Manage donor feedback and ensure sound stewardship.

· Liaise with Services and other fundraising staff to package up funding opportunities.

· Provide oversight on strategy and approach for the under 10K pool and assist with data analysis to inform planning.

· Engage with donors through phone calls and meetings

· Report monthly on income and KPI results.

· Undertake all associated administration including data management, coding of income, thanking process and tracking of grants received.

· Support the Head of Trusts and Foundations with higher value grant applications.

· Build strong internal working relationships with colleagues to facilitate the gathering of information for updates to funders.  

· Undertake other tasks, as required, that support the Trusts and Foundations Team as directed by the Head of Trusts and Foundations.

The post holder will also

· Work within all policies, procedures and budgets set by Whizz Kidz.

· Act at all times in the best interest of Whizz Kidz.

· Form effective working relationships with all colleagues members, volunteers and outside organisations as appropriate.

· Take responsibility for ensuring that the policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety in the workplace are adhered to at all times.

· Respect the confidentiality of data stored electronically and by other means in line with the Data Protection Act.

· Not disclose to an unauthorised person any confidential information acquired through official duties unless they have received official permission to do so.

Person specification

Skills and knowledge

· Skilled in writing creatively and accurately and presenting a strong case for support to funders.

· Solid research skills for identification of new funders and presentation of findings

· Knowledge of the UK Trust fundraising environment

· Confident in verbal communication.

· Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

· Competency in Microsoft office and presentation of content in Word to funders

· Numerate and financial skills

· Data entry and analysis skills

Experience

· Successfully raising income from Trusts

· Experience of researching new Trust opportunities

· Preparing and writing funding applications and costings

· Preparation of donor reports, case studies and of financial monitoring

· Experience of using a CRM system for fundraising
