Getting moving is only the start – sports wheelchairs, trikes and other cool equipment

Once you’ve got the right wheelchair, there’s a whole world of mobility equipment to take you even further. Whether it’s giving you the opportunity to join in with your friends, have a blast playing sports or get out and about over more rugged ground, we can help.

Whizz Kidz provides up to £3300 for a range of non-powered recreational equipment. These include:

Trikes – for three-wheeled fun outside with brothers, sisters and friends. They can have postural support added if needed.
Sports wheelchairs for playing and participating. From entry-level multisport chairs to custom made sports chairs for basketball, fencing and wheelchair motocross.
Equipment to help get over uneven ground outside, in the countryside, across fields and through woods. For example, this might include a set of mountain bike wheels and an additional front wheel to lift the chair's castors and make a manual chair into a 3-wheeler. (Permission would be needed from the wheelchair service for an NHS chair).
