Barratt Developments PLC and The Barratt Foundation

Whizz Kidz and Barratt Developments PLC have been in partnership since 2018. Each year Barratt colleagues take part in a range of opportunities, from large teams in the London Marathon to hosting work placements.

They are committed to building a more accessible future and have worked closely with and sponsored the Kidz Board. In 2019, members of the Kidz Board were welcomed to their housing developments to make accessibility recommendations which will be implemented at future sites.

The Barratt Foundation, which launched in 2021, has granted £1.2 Million to Whizz Kidz in vital funds.

Poundland

Whizz Kidz and Poundland, and the Poundland Foundation, have partnered since 2017, following two extensions.

Whizz Kidz are one of three joint national charity partners, alongside Make a Wish UK and Tommy’s.

In addition to raising over £2 Million for each charity, the partnership provides many opportunities for colleague, customer and supplier engagement across the UK. It has also secured two Corporate Engagement Awards.

Simply Business

Between 2016 and 2020, Simply Business raised a staggering £340,000 to transform the lives of young wheelchair users. Not only did they extend the partnership by a further two years (raising OVER DOUBLE their original target) and contribute more than 500 hours of volunteering, our partnership won the Third Sector Business Charity Award for Best Partnership in the Financial Services Sector.

From international treks to sponsored skydives, from payroll giving to a Dungeons and Dragons tournament, everyone at Simply Business supported the partnership, enabling Whizz Kidz to provide life-changing mobility equipment and support to hundreds of young people.

Nomura

Between 2017 and 2019, Whizz Kidz partnered with Nomura, raising over £415,000.

This was a multi-faceted partnership with various fundraising activities within the office and nearby. Whizz Kidz held a Wheelchair Handover Clinic at the Nomura office, enabling colleagues to see their impact first-hand. Nomura hosted a range of employability support and provided IT support and equipment to Whizz Kidz.

Jardine Motors Group

Whizz Kidz and Jardine Motors Group have been in partnership since 2014, and in that time, they have raised over £ 1.1 million to support young wheelchair users. Whizz Kidz work closely with their Charity Champion network to support dealership events, from bake sales to marathons and Tough Mudders. Jardine colleagues have come together to fundraise at group-wide events, such as a skydive, the annual Clay Pigeon Shoot, and an abseil of the ArcelorMittal.

The partnership has gone beyond fundraising too. Colleagues have volunteered their time and resources, offered 16 young people their first taste of employment by hosting work placements, and supported with the generous donation of four vans to help our Mobility Therapists reach young people across the UK.
