Volunteering Opportunities

Get involved with our work!

We have lots of volunteering opportunities across the UK and remotely.

You can work directly with young people at our regional clubs in England, Wales and Scotland, or you can support us behind the scenes online or at our head office in London.

Fundraising Database and Supporter Services Officer

This role will support the Data and Supporter Services team to deliver the best possible experience to our generous individual donors, through the management of the database tool Raiser’s Edge. The Data and Supporter Services team are an integral support to the Fundraising and Communications team at Whizz-Kidz, helping our colleagues to track and manage their communications, events and donations so that we can generate as much fundraising income as possible.

HR Administrator

This volunteering opportunity will involve generalist HR administrative experience. We are looking for someone who will participate in day to day HR matters, including but not limited to: producing reports, assisting with recruitment matters, on boarding, database management, and other general HR administrative matters. This will include tasks related to our IT platforms such as Workplace, Learn Upon and IHCM.

Fundraising Volunteer

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Public Fundraising team as a volunteer to work on a range of exciting projects, using your skills to support event participants, individual donors and community fundraisers to help them raise money for young wheelchair users. Working in the Public Fundraising team, you will play an important role in supporting the team to deliver various events and projects aimed at any member of the public who would like to raise money for Whizz-Kidz.

Wheelchair Skills Training Volunteers

We are looking for wheelchair users to support us in delivering our wheelchair skills training sessions in England, Scotland and Wales. In addition to promoting independence in young wheelchair users, our wheelchair skills training sessions aim to enable young wheelchair users to have confidence in their ability to use their wheelchairs, teach them new skills they can use in their everyday lives, give them the confidence to ask for support when it is needed and reduce social isolation.

Disability Awareness Training Volunteers

We would like to recruit a pool of volunteer with lived experience to support with delivering our disability awareness training to our corporate partners. These are 1 hour sessions that take place online or in-person to increase disability confidence with employees. Sessions cover disability history, legislation, models of disability, language, barriers and etiquette. Volunteers would be supported with these sessions by the relationship manager for the company.

Business Development Research Volunteer

We are looking for someone to support us with detailed company research for the Business Development team. As part of our work, we are identifying a selection of top companies and corporates we would love to partner with and need some support to help with researching these companies. This volunteering opportunity can be based in our head office in London, or remotely.

Event Day Volunteers

We are looking for people to support us at some of our fundraising events throughout the year. This volunteering opportunity could include stewarding our participants to the venue, cheering on our fantastic participants at our Whizz-Kidz cheer point, handing out medals and goody bags to participants and more. You don't need any previous experience of volunteering at events - you just need to be willing to try new things, enthusiastic about Whizz-Kidz and a good team player.
