Policy & Research

We lead high quality policy work with and for young wheelchair users and their families across the UK to campaign for a fairer society

Whizz Kidz empowers young wheelchair users with the equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences they need to take an active role in society. But we don’t stop there. We also carry out research, design campaigns and make sure young wheelchair users’ voices are heard and included in the conversation.

How we influence

Our messages to Government

We provide evidence to relevant Select Committee inquiries and Government consultations and attend meetings by cross-party groups like the All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs). Click here to read our Research and Policy briefings and find out more about our campaigns.

Listening to young wheelchair users and their families

Through talking to young wheelchair users and families that access our services and inform our research, we can understand the changes that would make a difference to our community. We use this lived experience and research to shape our campaigns and inspire our messages to the government.

Whizz Kidz Research Panel

Our research panel is open to any young wheelchair user aged 16 and over, or for parents/carers of young wheelchair users to take part in research by Whizz Kidz. Panel members are invited to complete surveys and participate in interviews and focus groups. You decide what research you take part in, and there is no minimum time commitment, you just get back to us if a research topic interests you. Find out more and join the Research Panel.

Supporting our Kidz Board

Kidz Board are the campaigning group of young wheelchair users at the heart of our charity, each representing a different area of the UK. They raise awareness about the issues that affect young wheelchair users and campaign to make a real difference for all young wheelchair users. Whizz Kidz supports the Kidz Board with policy and research to support their campaigns and projects. Find out more about the Kidz Board.
