London Marathon Supporter Guide

Introduction

Welcome to your London Marathon Supporter Guide for Team Whizz Kidz!

Firstly, thank you for all your support so far for our runners – through your donations, time, words of encouragement and so much more, we will be able to reach even more young wheelchair users this year!

We would love for you to be alongside us to cheer on your loved ones. Here is all the information you’ll need for race day

Meet us at the London Marathon Running Show

The London Marathon Running Show is the final step in the registration process and takes place between Wednesday 17^thto Saturday 20^th April at the ExCel Centre. All runners need to attend to collect their race numbers and they cannot run on race day without doing this.

Whizz Kidz will be there as well so please encourage your runner(s) to pop over and say hello – we will be on stand C31.

Sunday 21stApril – Race Day

We really recommend downloading the TCS London Marathon App ahead of race day so you are able to track your runner around the route to figure out your timings.

Before the race, we are encouraging everyone on Team Whizz Kidz to meet us in Greenwich Park for a team photo at 9am – see the Runner’s Guide for more information.  

The Route

We have four incredible Whizz Kidz cheering points across the route to cheer on our runners and we encourage you to join us so your runner knows where you will be. Make a note of their runner number and download the official London Marathon app to be able to track them on race day.

We will be around mile 9, 12.5, 19 and 24 (we will aim to get as close as possible to the mile markers so please keep an eye out for our yellow banners and flags):

The Finish Line and Post Race Reception

Our Post Race Reception is held at The Royal Institution which is a quick 10-minute walk from the finish line. You can find directions here.

At the reception, runners can get hot meal and a massage, and there is a café and bar open for you to purchase refreshments.

Your runner will need to formally RSVP to this, and please note that due to capacity they are allowed a maximum for 6 guests only. They can RSVP here.
