How do I get started?
A bake sale is always popular because everyone loves a bit of cake!
Pick a venue
Pick somewhere that's easy for people to attend, such as your workplace, community centre or home.
Set a date and time
Late mornings and lunch time events work particularly well, but choose a time that suits your audience and give plenty of people the opportunity to attend.
Recruit your bakers
Ask friends, family or colleagues to bring cakes, biscuits or other sweet treats. Remember to clearly label any allergens. You could even add a fun element with a themed bake or friendly bake-off competition.
Spread the word
Create a poster and spread the word by email, WhatsApp and social media.
Set suggested donations
You can price your bakes individually or suggest a donation for each treat. Every pound raised will help support young wheelchair users.
Plan how you'll collect donations
You can request a collection box from us or create a QR code linking directly to your fundraising page.
Add some finishing touches
Decorations, tablecloths, homemade signs and Whizz Kidz bunting can help make your coffee morning stand out.
What do I need?
We've put together a handy checklist of everything you may need:
- Delicious bakes - cakes, brownies, cookies, traybakes and cupcakes. Offering a variety of treats mean there's something for everyone.
- Cake labels for ingredients and allergen information so everyone can enjoy them safely.
- Volunteers to help you set up, serve customers and collect donations throughout the event
- A donation tin or QR code linked to your fundraising page
- A poster or sign explaining why you're fundraising for Whizz Kidz
- Whizz Kidz fundraising materials, such as banners, stickers and cardboard collection boxes (optional)
- Whizz Kidz custom bunting (optional)
