Mobility equipment for children under 5

We know how important it is to provide children and toddler wheelchairs for under 5s. Without a suitable wheelchair, young disabled children are at risk of  missing out on   learning, discovering and exploring independently . They can’t join in and play with their friends and rely on others to push them around.

Whizz Kidz provides very small manual and powered wheelchairs allowing toddlers to explore their surroundings independently. We do this on a loan basis and as quickly as possible from initial contact so they don’t miss out on opportunities in this crucial stage of their development.

My First Wheelchair Matters

If your child needs a wheelchair, nothing matters more. So why are young children with limited mobility missing out on equipment that meets their needs? Whizz-Kidz is campaigning  at government level to change NHS criteria and to increase funding for local services to address this. We want all children aged 3-5 years to get the right wheelchair at the right time.
