How do I get started?
An awesome quiz night doesn't require lots of planning or equipment. Here's everything you'll need to get started:
Pick a venue
Pick somewhere that's easy for people to attend, such as your workplace, community centre or home.
Set a date and time
Evenings are perfect for a coffee morning, but choose a time that suits your audience and gives plenty of people the opportunity to attend.
Recruit your friends and family
Ask friends, family or colleagues to attend the quiz night or help you host it and bring lots of energy. You could even choose a theme for your quiz rounds to make the event even more memorable.
Spread the word
Create a poster and spread the word by email, WhatsApp and social media.
Set suggested donations
A suggested donation of £5 per person, or a team entry fee, is a great way to start your fundraising.
Plan how you'll collect donations
You can request a collection box from us or create a QR code linking directly to your fundraising page
Prizes
Winning prizes don't need to be expensive. You could ask local businesses to donate vouchers, beverages, and fun experiences. We can provide a confirmation letter to help you secure prizes from local businesses and supporters.
Run a Raffle
A raffle is a great way to boost your fundraising and add some extra excitement to your quiz night. Sell raffle tickets throughout the event and draw your winners at the end to everyone engage right to the finish.
Add some finishing touches
Decorations, tablecloths, homemade signs and Whizz Kidz balloons and banner can help make your quiz night stand out.
What do I need?
We've put together a handy checklist of everything you may need:
- A Quiz host - someone enthusiastic to ask questions, keep the energy high and announce the winners.
- Prepare your quiz questions - Will your quizmaster ask the questions over the microphone, or will you present them on themed slides? Choose the format that works best for your venue and audience.
- A donation tin or QR code linked to your fundraising page
- A poster or sign explaining why you're fundraising for Whizz Kidz
- Whizz Kidz fundraising materials, such as banners, balloons, stickers and cardboard collection boxes (optional)
- Prizes - remember these don't need to fancy or expensive, and reaching out to your local businesses is a good place to start for vouchers.
Remember people are there to support you and your challenge, so take the opportunity to talk about why you're doing this and what inspired you to run for Whizz Kidz.
