Cooking with Nick - Ultimate Fish Finger Sandwich

In this video Nick from One Mile Bakery will show you how to make the ultimate homemade fish finger sandwich with tartar sauce.

For this recipe you will need:  

Fish fingers -

  • Bread crumbs
  • Egg
  • Plain flour
  • White fish 250g for 6
  • Salt & Pepper

Tartar sauce –

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 200ml oil
  • 1tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • A few gherkins / cornichons
  • 1 tsp capers
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • Small bunch of parsley
  • Small bunch of dill
  • Salt & Pepper  

Additional ingredients -

  • Gem lettuce
  • Bread
  • Butter

Some health and safety points to be aware of before you begin:

  • Wash your hands well after handling eggs.
  • Make sure you have an adult with you to help when working with a hot stove/hob, and be particularly careful not to touch hot oil.
  • Always use oven gloves when putting your baking tray in, and taking it out of the hot oven.
  • Take care when handling food processor blades, sharp knives and kitchen utensils, and make sure you have an adult close by to supervise and help you.
  • Make sure you give the fish fingers time to cool down before handling and eating them.
