66th Coventry Sherbourne Accessible Scout Group is an all-accessible group, made up entirely of young people with disabilities and additional needs.

As a newly formed group, 66th Scouts had very few resources for those members who are wheelchair users or have less mobility. This meant that it was difficult for young people to partake in the same games and activities as the rest of the group. As a result, they applied to the Community Change Fund.

The Scouts used their funding to purchase a range of activities and games that all their members can use to all participate in the same activity.

“It has really enabled use to run activities that we can lay out at our scout evenings, and no matter what activities our less mobile members fancy having a turn at, we know there is something they can use to have a go with the other members.”

66th Scouts said they project was really successful in creating change: “it all went very well, and we are so thankful for the kind grant from Whizz Kidz.”
