Barratt Developments Plc and The Barratt Foundation
Since 2018, we have been in partnership with Barratt Developments Plc and The Barratt Foundation and they have raised and donated over £2.1 million for Whizz Kidz - an incredible achievement which has transformed hundreds of children and young people’s lives across the UK.
Barratt’s support has funded our expert clinical services, life-changing wheelchair and mobility equipment, and training and confidence building activities.
We’ve seen fantastic engagement from Barratt employees including having 95 runners taking part in the London Marathon over the past 6 years. In 2023, we were delighted to be one of the chosen charities for the Big Barratt Hike when a team of 130 trekked through the Peak District, raising over £75,000 for Whizz Kidz. We’ve successfully collaborated on strategic projects, contributing to our shared goal to build a more accessible world. Barratt Developments Plc is also a proud sponsor of our Kidz Board, working closely with them to raise awareness and address issues that affect young wheelchair users. In 2019, members of the Kidz Board developed a set of recommendations for new Barratt housing developments, to make communal areas more accessible.
The partnership continues to grow, and they have many exciting plans, including office summer fundraising activities, ‘The Big Barratt Bake Off’ competition, wheelchair users at work training, and recruiting their biggest ever London Marathon team.
