Whizz Kidz partners with Purpl Discounts

Whizz Kidz, the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users, is delighted to announce a new partnership with Purpl Discounts, the UK’s first discount platform built by disabled people, for disabled people. From 1 July to 30 September 2025, Purpl will donate 20% of all promotional fees to Whizz Kidz, helping to fund life-changing mobility equipment for young wheelchair users across the UK.

This generous initiative will support Whizz Kidz’s urgent campaign to reopen its equipment waitlist, which was closed earlier this year due to overwhelming demand and limited resources. Currently, more than 800 children are waiting for the right mobility equipment to live independent, active lives.

Georgina Colman, Founder and CEO of Purpl Discounts, said:

“I was shocked to learn that over 800 children are currently waiting for wheelchairs. It’s outrageous — this shouldn’t be happening. It’s one of the reasons why Purpl matters so much to me..”

Launched in 2024, Purpl is a digital membership platform that helps disabled, neurodivergent people and carers save money on everyday essentials, including food, tech, travel and entertainment. The platform’s community-first model also reinvests into causes that benefit its members — with this new partnership marking the first major step in its charitable giving.

Henry Ellinger-Gane, Head of Partnerships at Whizz Kidz commented:

Purpl’s commitment comes at a critical moment. With our waitlist closed for the first time, we urgently need support to reach the children who are still waiting. This partnership will help us fund the mobility equipment that gives young people independence, confidence and the freedom to be themselves.”

Whizz Kidz provides bespoke wheelchairs and mobility equipment, tailored to the needs of each child. These vital services empower young wheelchair users to participate fully in school, family life and their communities.
