At Whizz Kidz, we’ve spent decades ensuring that young wheelchair users across the UK can explore, play, learn—and simply enjoy being children. But today, a perfect storm of soaring demand and rising costs has left hundreds of young people stranded, waiting for the mobility equipment that could transform their lives.

The Waiting List Has Closed—But the Need Hasn’t

For the first time in our history, we have had to close our waitlist.
Right now, 1000’s of children are facing months of delay before they’ll even be assessed for a life‑changing wheelchair. Every extra day they wait is another day of missing out:

• Missing out on playing with friends
• Watching school trips from the sidelines
• Losing independence and confidence

Instead of thriving, too many children are isolated, in pain, and dependent on others — just to move.
This isn’t the childhood they deserve.

Our new Childhood Can’t Wait appeal is born of this urgent crisis. We need to raise £750,000immediately to:

1. Reopen the waitlist so families can once again ask for help.
2. Begin reducing the 18‑month backlog.

And with £1.2 million a year, we could equip hundreds of children every single year with the wheelchairs they need to live freely, fully, and without limits.
