Whizz Kidz Joins Forces with the Daily Express
The Daily Express has selected Whizz Kidz as the beneficiary of its annual Christmas Appeal.
This Christmas, we are proud to announce a powerful new partnership: the Daily Express has selected Whizz Kidz as the beneficiary of its annual Christmas Appeal. Together, we are joining forces to promote our urgent Childhood Can’t Wait campaign—and to give young wheelchair users across the UK the chance to reclaim something priceless: their childhood.
A Partnership Built on Urgency and Hope
While many families come together to celebrate this festive season, thousands of young wheelchair users are left waiting—waiting to play, to explore, to go to school with confidence, to simply join in with their friends.
Right now, the wait has never been longer. Demand for vital mobility equipment has surged, and costs have soared. For the first time in our 35-year history, we have been forced to close our waiting list. Children are facing delays of up to 18 months before they can even be assessed for the wheelchair that will give them their freedom and independence.
These are days of childhood that can never be given back.

Why The Express' Support is Transformational
Our new partnership with the Daily Express has come at a time where we need it most.
By championing our Childhood Can’t Wait appeal, the Express will help us reach millions of readers with a simple but powerful message: you can give the gift of childhood this Christmas.
Their backing gives our campaign a national platform; amplifying the voices of young wheelchair users, shining a spotlight on the challenges they face, and inviting the public to be part of the solution.
Together, we can turn waiting into playing. Isolation into inclusion. Pain into possibility.
What We Must Achieve Together
To reopen our waiting list and begin reducing the backlog, we urgently need to raise £750,000. With £1.2 million a year, we could provide hundreds more children with the mobility equipment that allows them not just to get by, but to flourish.
Every donation inspired by this partnership helps us reach another family. Another child waiting to join in. Another young person longing for independence.
A Christmas Where You Can Give the Gift of Childhood
To the readers of the Daily Express: thank you for opening your hearts at this critical time. Your support will help ensure that children don’t spend a day longer than necessary waiting for the mobility equipment they desperately need.
This Christmas, you truly can give the gift of childhood.
