FAQs: All your questions answered (hopefully)

Q. What should I wear?
A. Please feel free to dress casually and comfortably for the conference. We might be in the business district of Canary Wharf, but there’s no need for suits and your best shoes—unless that is your idea of comfort.


Q. Will I need my laptop?
A. No. Not for the conference. But feel free to bring it if you need to work on the journey or in the evening.


Q. Will there be somewhere to put bags and coats?
A. Yes, there will be somewhere in the venue to store your bags and coats.


Q. Where do I put my bag if I’m staying in a hotel?
A. You should bring it along to the event and check in after we finish on day one (unless you’re coming from further away and are staying on Tuesday night, of course).


Q. Where is the hotel for Whizz Kidz colleagues if I’ve been booked to stay there?

Q. What must I remember to bring?
A. You will need a photo ID to enter the building.


Q. What photo ID will be accepted?
A. All forms of photo ID will be acceptable. Your Whizz Kidz pass, if you have one, or any of the classics: passport (even if expired), driving license, or anything you used to vote in the General Election.


Q. Do I need to bring anything else?

A. Please bring a pen and paper to make notes and your phone (as if you would leave that at home!) to read this guide.


Q. Will food and drinks be provided?
A. Yes, there will be tea, coffee, and biscuits first thing and fresh fruit in the morning break. You'll have a delicious sandwich lunch, with tea, coffee, and cake in the afternoon. All from the Northern Trust’s in-house catering team. Please contact Amy Steward if you haven't already told her about any dietary requirements.

Q. Will there be a social event in the evening?
A. Yes, everyone is invited to come for drinks on Wednesday evening at:

The bar is booked from 4.30 to 10pm. We’ve got £500 behind the bar, which should cover at least one drink each. Please drink responsibly.

Q. Who should I talk to if I have any questions about accessibility at Whizz Con?
A. Please contact Amy Steward (a.steward@whizz-kidz.org.uk) if you haven't already heard from her.  For anyone who needs an accessible entrance, the main entrance is a revolving door. The side entrance has step free access.


Q. Anything else I should know about?

A. We will be taking some informal photos at the conference for recruitment marketing, so please let MarComms (CommsTeam@whizz-kidz.org.uk) know if you don’t want to be included.
